Your Grue-Crew had fun with the Amicus Production of AND NOW THE SCREAMING STARTS (1973), especially the cast: Ian Ogilvy, Stephanie Beacham, and late entries by Peter Cushing and Herbert Lom. It's an interesting talk, which we think you'll enjoy!

S01E123 Video Review - AND NOW THE SCREAMING STARTS

Season 1

EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC has problems. It's very confusing, and the machine concept makes no sense. It's the opposite of what The Exorcist is and even subverts its theme. However, good vs. evil, where evil seeks out exceptional good, is a nice idea, and there is a great cast.

S02E151 Video Review - EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC

Season 2

Despite a familiar cast, this made-for-TV movie misses the mark. Even with memorable scenes from a creepy, nail-spitting lady or Harrison Ford prior to Star Wars, time has not been kind to this post-Exorcist attempt at the supernatural, but the Grue-Crew review it all the same and have fun while doing it.

S04E180 Video Review - The Possessed

Season 4

Guest Jerry Chandler rejoins the Grue Crew for the 3rd Templar Knights/Blind Dead flick from Amando de Ossorio: THE GHOST GALLEON, 1974. The plot and characters' actions make no sense, but the Blind Dead creep factor is off the charts. Enjoy our talkabout!

S05E212 Video Review - THE GHOST GALLEON

Recommended by Grue Believers, THE STONE TAPE is a BBC TV film written by Nigel Kneale, directed by Peter Sasdy, and shown on Christmas Day in 1972. Your 70s Grue-Crew loves this movie! Thank you to the recommenders! Enjoy our talkabout!

S05E227 Video Review - THE STONE TAPE

The Grue Crew discuss 3 shorts based on ghost stories from the UK. Whistle and I'll Come to You, 1968, and Lost Hearts, 1973, stories by M.R. James, and The Signalman, 1976, a story by Charles Dickens. The Brits do ghost stories very well. Enjoy our talkabout!

S05E231 Video Review - A GHOST STORY FOR CHRISTMAS

Season 5

This low-budget indy film, shot in Stowe, VT, features character actors and locals with a dose of star power from Oscar-winner Kim Hunter. You might call this one a slow burn, but the crew always enjoy discovering a new-to-them horror movie. Enjoy our talkabout!

S06E248 Video Review - DARK AUGUST

Season 6

Much to all of our delights, we finally reviewed this film. Since we are all KISS fans, we all watched when it originally aired on NBC TV in the States on Oct 28 '78. This episode is a fun discussion on the film, the cast, and each member of KISS. Enjoy our talkabout!

S07E263 Video Review - KISS MEETS THE PHANTOM OF THE PARK

The Grue-Crew head to New Jersey to visit THE haunted house. Directed by Stuart Rosenberg w/James Brolin, Margot Kidder, Rod Steiger, Don Stroud, Murray Hamilton, and Natasha Ryan. Based on a true story! Dig those crazy eyes! Enjoy our talkabout!

S07E264 Video Review - THE AMITYVILLE HORROR

Amando de Ossorio's 4th & last Blind Dead film wears a Lovecraftian coat & pulls back on the usual gore & nudity. Jerry Chandler, a Blind Dead crusader, joins the Crew to help dig into this one. Where does it fit in the 4-film saga? Watch & find out! Enjoy our talkabout!
